It’s the holiday season, my dear people. New Year’s and Christmas are approaching, another year has passed. Time flies, huh?
There is an amazing season ahead of us that some have eagerly been waiting for, whilst others will find it depressing and melancholic. And regardless of the group you belong to, you deserve to be loved equally.
Life hasn’t treated all of us well. Difficult situations are hiding behind every corner, demons from our past are lurking all the time just waiting for the right opportunity to come out and attack. But for some reason, none of that matters during the holidays.
Do something for me, would ya? Look out the window. What do you see?
Let me tell you what I see.
I see Christmas lights lighting up the whole neighborhood. I see people, couples, buying presents for their loved ones, walking together, laughing. I see friends drinking hot chocolate in the cafe right at the corner of the street, making plans for the New Year’s, remembering all the stupid things they did in the past, and making resolutions of not making the same mistakes again in the year to come. Guess what? They’ll probably do them all over again – how else are they going to be sitting at the same cafe on the same street this time next year?
You see, my dears, we people tend to make our lives harder and more complicated as the years go by. We tend to run after what we think we want and forget to hold on the things we really need. Each year we’re hoping the year to come will be better – and each year we end up wishing for the same thing to happen next year. So I’ll say, let’s learn to forgive ourselves first, and then the others around us, for forgiveness is the only way to get to the level of reaching happiness in life.
Why do I say ‘forgive ourselves’ first? Look deep inside you. You’re struggling because of something that has or hasn’t happened and because of your action or reaction to that thing. The so-called ‘demons’ of our past is just our inability to forgive ourselves, starting from the tiniest, stupidest things like forgetting to buy a Christmas gift for your mother-in-law, to the more serious ones, like cheating on a partner or ruining your marriage. Or whatever is your serious demon.
You cannot turn back time, whatever you do. So you can either decide to spend your whole life wishing you could, or you can stop your own struggling and make the best out of the years you have left in this world.
There is not a single soul on this planet that is perfect, so what’s the point in trying to achieve the impossible? Society has laid so much of its load upon us and it’s making our lives miserable. And each and every single one of us deserves to live a happy life, a life filled with joy and happiness, regardless of where they come from.
And since it’s Christmas, and since society has already laid upon us that we should buy and receive gifts, I have a gift for you. It’s not materialistic, but it’s just what I, you, and every other person in this world need right now.
I give you the gift of LOVE & FORGIVENESS.
The only thing I’m asking you is to say it out loud:
I LOVE myself because I have done so many things and didn’t receive the appreciation I deserved. I LOVE myself because I am a good person and I have the right to put myself first when I feel the need to.
I FORGIVE myself for all the things that I’ve done that I regret now and I FORGIVE myself for all the things I’ve done that hurt other people. There’s no point in struggling, the past is gone – I will try to be a better person in the future.
The moment you start giving yourself the appreciation you truly deserve, only then will your life start to bloom in whatever way you want it to, regardless of whether that’s family, children, partner, love, career, business, education, and so on.
Lastly, I would like to show you a video that has helped me a lot to get a hold of myself and the ones around me.
This is my gift to you. It’s with all my heart!
I wish the year to come to be the best one so far for all of us! Because we deserve it, no matter how imperfect we are.
Enjoy my dear people, and if you like this gift, you can show me your appreciation by sharing this article on Facebook or liking my Pinterest board here. Until next time! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ♥
